Hi friends! Back in September my blog post was all about how much I enjoyed painting the large piece for my own home. It was the largest painting I had done to date, pushing me outside of my comfort zone. Well, big news people!

I am going even bigger. During the month of October I am going to be painting an outdoor mural measuring 20 feet wide by 11 feet tall.

The mural will be for the Clintonville store Wild Cat Gift and Party. Guys, this place is one of my favorite stores in Columbus. The store owner Olivera Bratich wants something colorful and abstract on an exterior wall of their special building where they do workshops and parties. This back drop will embody all of the fun and playfullness of the store. I'm truly honored to be doing my first mural for such a cool client.

I approached the design of the mural the same way I prepare for a large painting. I created a few digital sketches on my ipad pro using the software procreate. This allowed me to draw directly onto a photo of the space to show an accurate scale of the art. The above photo is the art that she chose, and I will use that as my blueprint when I begin painting.

I can barely contain my excitement for this project! I hope to share progress of the mural on instagram and facebook, so if you want to follow along find me @amythemakist. Next month I'll be back with my thoughts and feelings after it is completed. Have a great October friends!
