This March I had the opportunity to join the Craftin’ Outlaws at the Columbus Museum of Art. To say that the past month has been amazing is an understatement. Being accepted into a group of 50 handpicked artist and makers was an absolute honor. It also kinda kicked me in the butt and got me making overtime. Since it was my first time, I was not sure what would sell, so I made a ton of everything! I enjoyed every single second of it.

The day of the event was a dream. I met awesome makers that gave me amazing advice and feedback. I was supported by my husband and family. And I loved meeting people that cared about my work. Let me tell you, it is a surreal experience to have someone pay you for something you have made. I will always remember those interactions I had that day.

I feel like I am the luckiest person in the world to be able to continue to do what I love. I’m a pretty simple person- I don’t want fame, I‘m not looking for fortune, I just want to make things. I want to get me hands dirty and play. I want to experiment and push myself deeper. And now I feel like I have the confidence to keep going. I'm shedding my insecurities and getting into a groove.

I am applying to more events around Ohio and even beyond, now that I have momentum. My next confirmed event is in October, but I hope to fill in with a couple this spring in summer. Thank you for following along with me on my journey!
